I'm prompt, reliable,an earlybird and work with  enthusiasm !

Born and raised to be married, that is exactly what I did, (three times).

I am now wife,  proud mother of 6 married extraordinary children, and 14 PLUS grandchildren. We are Sephardic Modern Orthodox Jews that raise large families.  Careers are built while prioritising the Sabbath, preserving customs and celebrating holidays traditionaly.

Over-acheivement was the norm, and high marks in school were expected, as well as obedience.I attended college for 2 weeks and then got engaged to be married at 19 years old.

Time was valuable, and my 6 siblings and I  were highly disciplined. We learned to be accountable for every minute from my father, who monitored us closely, and would routinely interrogate us every evening at our dinner table.

I grew up in BROOKLYN, playing backgammon, and "Monopoly", REAL ESTATE in my blood with the sounds of "The Beatles", the "Doors", and "Barbra Streisand" playing in the house.

My big family loved to dance and party and we cooked, and made fancy desserts. I had piano, Hebrew and tap dancing lessons!!

My elementary school teachers asked me to paint Chanuka murals on the glass windows of the Magen David Yeshivah .It was quite a big thrill to see my colorful art on the building!!

Ironically they also noticed that I was squinting my eyes to see. A trip to the eye doctor proved me nearly blind, a vision  -650. It was a new world with eyeglasses!!! What a great invention!

One day when I was 7 years old, I felt sick and stayed home from school. My Mom bought me a hobby craft  sewing kit to keep me busy.

I opened the box which came with everything you needed to create a square tufted pillow including fabric, thread and a button.

"Who needs a pillow?", I thought. I had a better idea.

I draped the fabric to my little body and created a blouse for myself with bell sleeves that closed   with the fabric covered button. My mother came to check on me and see how the pillow was coming out.She was SHOCKED when she saw me wearing a home made blouse that I designed by myself!

She immediately enrolled me in sewing lessons with women 20 years older than me and bought me a $200 sewing machine from Sears!!

After that I could barely sleep, sewing my creations way into the night, the motor noise of the machine keeping me company while I sewed my own clothes. I hung out in fabric and trimming stores. I drove my Mom crazy because I refused to buy clothing in stores!!

One day she said "Linda, Why don't you sell 'Sak's 5th Ave' ?", like it was the most natural thing in the world. So at age 12, I was selling Saks 5th Ave, my original kids tennis outfits,, featured in N.Y.C. glass showcases.

My mother was always optimistically encouraging me and I am grateful that she acted on it.This taught me to be on the lookout for gifts that could be nurtured in my own children!

One summer my Mom said "Linda,Why don't you learn to knit?". So I got instructions and yarn to make a sweater. (I didn't follow them lol) and instead made an amazing Western style sweater with a yoke of  fringes. I fell in love with knitting with french yarns, and continued making all different fantasy styles. These became my sample line, which I exhibited just for the fun of it at a trade show at the N.Y. Coliseum. I got discovered immediately by a buyer that ordered $40,000 on the spot!! I accepted the order even though I had no idea how I would produce handknits in quantity! Before long I was scouting Beauty Salons looking for old ladies knitting

under the hair dryers,,,   sitting on park benches or anyplace I could find them.I posted flyers on trees that said "KNITTERS WANTED".I would search for knitters in local laundramats

and ask them to knit for my collection.I soon had 17 knitters

and had a small factory that kept growing.I had so much fun

with these women and many did not even speak English!

They were happy to help and have a great time !

They were  feeling fabulous that celebrities

like 'Jerri Hall' were modeling the knits featured in fine dept stores,

specialty boutiques and magazines. I created lots of one of a kind clothes for special

occasions, charity, and family.

Interior decorating facinates me. I collected antiques and woke up in the wee hours to shop auctions and the 26th Street flea markets.I decided to go to the N.Y.C. Department of Consumer affairs, get fingerprinted and obtain a SECOND HAND DEALERS LICENSE. I planned an Antiques Extravaganza sale in my home with many exhibiters.I mailed invitations.I  love cooking and entertaining so I made food for 1,000 people .After I used my home as a store, which I loved because I was home for my kids when they arrived from school ,

and cooked in between customer appointments. I displayed 16 pianos in my living room, and hung chandeliers above them! I stuffed my home with furniture until opening a retail store ,buying and selling pianos for 10 years. Making many  friends and customers ,bring music into their homes was very fullfilling to me,as well as selling a chandelier to enhance their shabbat tables. As an Antique Dealer, I specialized in art case pianos, art, collectibles, and my favorites, lighting and vintage jewelry. One of the most exciting days of my career was when I drove to Pennsylvania and purchased a 15 foot box truck to make deliveries. I drove the truck home by myself!!

.I did this until 9/11 and then the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel was closed, slowing business down.

I decided to go to Real estate school at night, and it was exhausting but I got my Real Estate Licence and later became a Broker!!

I came to the conclusion that it took the same effort to sell homes, as it did to sell chandeliers.

I still maintain a N.Y. State  Real Estate Broker license. I adored creatively advertising  my "GO WEST!"  marketing campaign MORE than selling in "The Real Estate Jungle". So I stopped selling.

I still manage my own real estate portfolio, and take pride in my growing neighborhood.

I enjoyed writing witty poems and Bar Mitzvah speeches for freinds and family. I started composing music and song lyrics.

I enjoy Broadway Shows and I decided to write one, to go with my songs .I got hooked on writing!!

Before long I started professionally recording  my songs and developing myself as a singer as well.

"Linda From Brooklyn!!" evolved in various character parts!! I also create my own slideshows and films.I cherish the Careers that I took on .That's why I am able to work so hard and have fun, combining what I've learned in each field.I designed the music dress below and made a movie in it!!

Here are some of my work ethics and beliefs. Please share your career photos and quotes with me by emailing welcome comments to LindaFromBrooklyn@gmail.com  Have a great day! Every Day Counts!

and find a big pot of delicious soup.

I often thought of starting a soup business,,lol.

My family and freinds could stop by and have a hot homemade meal.

Many would ask me for dating and marriage tips and I would give them advice!!!

This was the beggining of
